Applicants must hold a doctoral qualification.  Consideration will be given to applicants from any major specialism within PhysicalGeography , although preference will be given to those with expertise in applied, environmental management themes and/or those working in coastal and marine areas.
The appointee will be expected to contribute to teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and to contribute to research supervision within the Department.  Evidence of peer reviewed publications will be expected, together with experience in teaching within the third-level education system.

Salary scale (new entrants 2011)*: €31,821 – €51,270 / €62,353 – €81,459
* Existing public servants continuously employed in the public sector on/after 31st December 2010 will be placed on the 2010 salary scales (non new entrants).  In all instances the successful appointment will be at the first point of the scale
